Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at jensachar@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Despite what you see in the news, Israel is a very safe country to travel to. In fact, in a recent study, Israel was ranked as the fifth safest country in the world for tourists to travel to, trumping the UK, the US, and most European countries.

It’s easy to associate all of Israel with Gaza and the West Bank. But you must remember that these aren’t areas where most people live. They certainly aren’t the areas that travelers visit. The main tourist areas remain as safe as always.

Bar Mitzvah celebrations in Israel are typically more relaxed than in the United States, so dressy-casual attire is perfect. December in Jerusalem is cool, with daytime temperatures in the mid-50s (around 13–16°C), evenings in the low-40s (5–8°C), and occasional rain—so layers and a jacket are recommended. Since breakfast will be outdoors and lunch indoors, dressing in layers will help you stay comfortable throughout the day. Women are kindly asked to bring a light wrap or covering for their shoulders when visiting the Western Wall.
